January 2012
I get to close out the year with a short essay on USA Hockey. It’s not great, but it’s not horrible.
For the past few years, I have carefully followed Team USA and their journey to the World Junior Hockey Championships. When it was finally time for this year’s tournament to begin in Alberta, Canada, I became glued to the TV whenever Team USA was playing. As I watched each game from...
...?
Team USA’s loss to Canada has given me inspiration to write my UVA essay. My favorite place to get lost is watching Team USA play. Whatever works, I guess…

USA Hockey is Do or Die!
I am so proud of these boys. It may be another loss to Canada, but they played their hearts out and that’s all I could ask for. The game went from 3-0 to 3-2. My heart swells with pride. The only sad thing is that it’s the end of an era with Jack Campbell and Jason Zucker.
I love these boys so much. <3
JASON ZUCKER - CAPTAIN AMERICA!!!
It’s a 1 goal game!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!
CHARLIE COYLE!!!
Thank you for not making it a shutout. That’s all I wanted out of this game.

I miss Derek Forbort.
Our blue line is so empty without him. I hope he’s okay. <3

NHL.com stream died. Now how am I supposed to watch the final USA game?!
Edit: Never mind… It only took 10 minutes to come back to life. Win or lose, USA Hockey is do or die!
NHL Network needs to fix it's streaming.
‘Cause all I’m getting in Rexall Place audio rather than NHL Network audio. I guess the amount of boos will tell me how the US is doing.

Welcome to Midnight.
twloha:
Five. Four. Three. Two. One. The ball drops and fireworks. Resolutions are made. People scream and people kiss and is it possible to change? Is it really truly possible to leave the past behind? Welcome to Midnight. Another year comes to a close. Another year begins. With a moment in between. Why the fuss? Why the fame and fireworks? Is it more than hype? More than something...
My sad attempt at one of my BU essays.
Feel free to give me any opinions you may have.
Of all the schools in the Boston area, BU really stood out to me. I want to major in business, and the School of Management has one of the top programs in the country. I know I will receive the best education to build a career upon. The internship and study abroad programs provide me with opportunities to experience the real world rather than staying...

USA Hockey is Do or Die!
Team USA will be in the relegation round for the first time since 1999. My heart breaks for these boys. Gold in 2010, bronze in 2011, and 7th at best in 2012. </3
Even though the Canada game can’t save you, play your hearts out boys. Show them what USA Hockey is all about. Show them that you can overcome the adversity you’ve been facing.
In the 2006 Olympics, Team USA placed 8th...
everyone: it's just a hockey team

I hate college essays.
Slaving away to my BU and UVA essays. I hate the awkward topics and word limits. In other news, feel free to read my essay on Matt Flyzik below.
There are a number of people who have had a significant influence on me. The person who has had the greatest impact is Matt Flyzik. For most of the world, his name is only a name. Nonetheless, he is the primary reason why I want to study business with...
Just got my report back. 0 Absences. I have been sick as a dog at least 3 times...

</3 There’s no way we can beat Canada tomorrow… And even if we do, our goal differential’s too low when we go into tiebreaker between Czech and Finland (‘Cause they’re going to beat Denmark. It’s freaking Denmark. They can’t not win.) T_T
My heart’s breaking for these boys. As soon as Forbs went down I had a sinking feeling. It was a good run...

HELP!
Can someone send me all 4 episodes of 24/7 Penguins/Capitals? I lost them when my iBook decided to die before I could back everything up… T_T And HBO had to take down everything that was on YouTube before the Rangers/Flyers series started.

alex gaskarth blog entries: There is a legacy in the making, being traced in the sands of time, tripped up and slowed by fleeting wishes that come and go like summer rain, carried on the wings of an undying faith in a promise that there is something on the other side of the horizon worth being found. I am drawn to that unknown like a fish on a line, yet, the hands of fiends lay claim to idle stride— and from the top of every tower, of every wall built to stand in my way, they perch, punching holes in the Earth and filling them with oceans of misguided ambition that I am forced to sail, blindly, on the ebbs and swells of my lost hopes and dreams.

Zac Dalpe!
Goal and an assist in the second game of his callup! Yay Dalps!
Hopefully I still have some fans here.

Random Observation of the Game:
Justin Peters changed his number. He was 60 for the last two seasons, and now he’s 35. I wonder what led him to change his number.
Justin Peters is playing so well!
WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE AGAINST THE PENS?!
I feel so conflicted with this game. Pens vs. Checker callups of Dalpe, Bowman, Faulk, and Peters. As long as both teams can get a point, I think I’ll be okay.
